I don't like as much as this post might make it seem, but when in Rome... Oh yeah, and I used to know once. But that was long ago... now I'm mostly left with just "Semper ubi sub ubi." .

Love, Death, and Robots Season 3 is actually good again! This makes me happy. Season 1 was great, IMO. Season 2 was pretty meh mostly. But I'm four episodes in and not really a bad one yet.

Videogames, problematic, racism,

Man, Transport Fever 2 is a nice Railroads type game... But I'm ready to dump the narrator in the ocean. Like I get it, the industrial era was exploitive. I don't need to hear this stupid dude pretending to be oldtimey by going on about cityfolk getting lazy so let's pull in poor people from the countryside to bust the unions or how Mexicans like free handouts. Wtf. Still early in the chapters, but I hope the later quests aren't more of the same.

Warhammer 40k: CHADS GATE - Daemonhunters is a game about taking a squad of four absolute chads and wrecking daemons with them.

New business plan: Duckwater.
Slogan: "Nothing tastes quite like water off a duck."
Positives: Selling water. It's cheap.
Negatives: Requires at least one duck.

Upbeat music, made sad.

One of Alanis' best. And I actually like Alanis Morissette.

Seeing lots of good reviews for 40k: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters. Chomping at the bit to play it. I do love me some XCOM-likes. Let's see if it's better than Mechanicus...

Mastodon provides several tools for managing your timeline.

You can add notes to any profile. Why did you follow them? Are they a repeat offender? Remind yourself.

You can disable boosts on a per-user basis. Maybe you want to see a user's posts, but not everything that interests them.

You can temporarily mute an account while they get something out of their system.

You filter out posts with specific words, hashtags or phrases.

And when all else fails: block, unfollow, or mute indefinitely.

This is worth sharing.

It's an animated GIF where every frame is a valid QR code that leads to the "Never Gonna Give You Up" rickroll.

That's kind of amazing.

If you're coming from Twitter, you might not recognize the "post privacy" option.

Basically, each post you send on Mastodon can have 1 of 4 privacy settings: Public, Unlisted, Followers-only, or Direct.

Basically, Public goes far and wide, Followers-only is nice for more personal stuff (and can't be boosted -- retweeted), and Direct means it's like a Direct Message to any and all users you mention (tag) in your post.

A few years ago I made this flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!

So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.

This is why it's important to boost good posts and use hashtags - the fediverse is fragmented and harder to search by nature.
